FRC Team #2881
girl scouts of central texas robotics team
The Lady Cans are an all girls robotics team located in the greater Austin area. We strive to build the courage, confidence and character of young girls and teach them to strive for success in everything they do. Our mission is to introduce young women to science, technology, engineering, and math principles while developing the skills to be successful in a variety of careers.
We compete in FRC regionals Central and North Houston. When we're not at competition, our ladies can be found at many off-season competitions, GSCTX demos and summer camps, mentoring local FLL teams, and participating at a few VEX competitions.
We meet every Friday throughout the school year, and meet on both Friday and Thursdays during the summer months. During our meetings, our members learn aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering. They are encouraged to come up with their own solutions to design challenges and problems. Our members are then taught communication skills as they find ways to express their solutions to their mentors and team members.
