THE LADY CANS

The Lady Cans are a robotics team located in the greater Austin area. We strive to build the courage, confidence and character of young girls and teach them to strive for success in everything they do. Our mission is to introduce young women to science, technology, engineering, and math principles while developing the skills to be successful in a variety of careers.

Every spring we compete in two FRC district in Texas. When we're not at competition, our ladies can be found competing and volunteering in off-season competitions, helping out at GSCTX demos and summer camps, mentoring local FLL teams, and participating at VEX competitions.

We meet every Friday throughout the school year, and meet on Thursdays and Fridays during the summer months. During our meetings, our members learn aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering, along with a variety of what we call "soft skills". They are encouraged to come up with their own solutions to design challenges and problems. Our members are taught how to effectively communicate as they find ways to express their solutions to their mentors and team members.
